Introduction - My Images

Ladakh: – Often referred to as “Little Tibet”, or “Land of the High Passes”, Ladakh is a land of mystery and many surprises, a land where 99% of it is declared unfit for human habitation, resembling a lunar landscape. A land where the mercury drops to -40c in winter, and roads in and out are closed for months on end. A land that borders Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Tibet and China. A land dotted with ancient Gompas (Monasteries). Some come to seek solace, others come to explore, and capture memories. Although 90% of the population are Hindu, about 7-8% of the remainder are of Bhuddist religion, mainly in the Khumbhu Region, home of the legendary Sherpa, and Mt. Everest. Ranging from the almost flat Terai Plains at 1,500ft. to the summit of Mt. Everest at 29,028 ft. no other land offers as much diversity in culture, landscape, and religion as Nepal. All images taken on Nikon FM2/Nikon F3HP, and Kodachrome 64 ************************************************* All of these images come from the Ladakh Region, plus the various regions of Nepal – - Kathmandu/Annapurna/Langtang/Khumbu/Gokyo. Although primarily Bhuddist, there are a still a diverse mix of looks and appearance. All images taken on Nikon FM2/Nikon F3HP, Kodachrome 25 and 64 ************************************************* These images come from various regions of the globe. All images taken on Nikon FM2/Nikon F3HP/Nikon F4s, with Kodachrome 64 / Nikon D70s and Nikon D80 Digital. *******************************
